The construction of large-scale scenery bases has accelerated the continuous decline of photovoltaic power generation costs

The National Energy Administration recently issued the “2023 energy work Guidance” clearly, this year to consolidate the advantages of wind power photovoltaic industry development, to promote the first batch of desert, Gobi, desert areas as the focus of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects connected to the grid and put into operation, the construction of the second batch, the third batch of projects. The annual installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic will increase by about 160 million kilowatts. Compared with the level of new installed capacity in 2022, the new target scale is further increased.

Industry insiders believe that technology improvement is the key to promote the jump in the development of new energy and help achieve the “double carbon” goal, and it is expected that the cost of photovoltaic power generation will continue to decline in the future.

In recent years, China’s green and low-carbon energy transformation has achieved positive results. In 2022, the new installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power generation in the country reached 125 million kilowatts, exceeding 100 million kilowatts for three consecutive years, setting a new record high. The installed capacity of renewable energy will exceed 1.2 billion kilowatts by the end of 2022, accounting for 47.3% of the country’s total installed power generation capacity, an increase of 2.5 percentage points over 2021.

At the “Eighth China Energy Development and Innovation Forum” held recently, Li Wenxue, Party secretary and vice president of Longi Green Energy Technology Co., LTD., believes that photovoltaic will play an important role in the global energy transition. He said that in order to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality, electricity will become the main energy carrier in the world’s energy mix in 2050, accounting for 51 percent. Among them, photovoltaic power needs to account for nearly 50% of the future renewable energy based power system. In 2050, the total installed PV capacity will increase to 24 times
